Today is SHOW DAY!!!!! I am so excited!
My mom and I arrived at the show around 10:15 and I went straight to my ring to talk to the announcer and see what time my flat class was going to start. I still had another 45 minutes before I had to show. So, I hung out with my friends!!
First I had the 2’0 equitation flat class and then I had a bunch of 2’0 over fences classes. I started warming up and Cleo felt so confident. Yesterday in the warm-up ring she was a little tense (or was that me?), but today she was way more relaxed.
When a flat class has over 12 people signed up they typically split it into two groups. That’s what happened in my flat class today. After several intense rounds of rock/paper/scissors with my friend I think I lost and was supposed to go in first. But my friend wanted to go first, so she did! And she won first place! I was so excited for her!
Then it was my turn to go into the ring for the first time today, and I was feeling a bit nervous. But when I head into the ring, all the nervousness went away and I was just purely happy to be showing again.
I made a couple errors in the ring but overall I felt I did pretty well… and I earned 2nd place! 🥈 I was definitely excited about it and so happy for Cleo!
Now it’s time for the over fences classes- all 2′ jumps today. I competed in four different classes, and most of them were pretty good. I made some annoying mistakes, but Cleo and I were a great team. Plus, by the time we were in our last class I was ready. Mistakes had been made and fixed. My last class was a 2′ equation medal class. I saw all my distances well, cleared all the fences, and I got all my lead changes. Whew! I walked out of the ring feeling incredibly happy with Cleo and with myself.
And so… the moment we’ve all been waiting for… what did I earn in that class???
I won… 1st place!🥇 Yay!! First real show with Cleo (no rain cancellations this weekend!) and I think it was a huge accomplishment. Of course there were some mistakes and things to work on, but that’s the point, right? I think it’s going to be so much fun learning and improving (and winning!) with Cleo. Highlights of the day below!

So happy for you Bee!
