Today is my first official show day at the Woodside Summer Classic Week 1.
I got to the show around 10:15 and immediately went to go check my ring. Then I had to go on a scavenger hunt to find my trainer. (I finally found her after 30 minutes of looking around and saying hi to everyone!)
Then it was time to get on.
Headed up to the warmup ring! I didnโt do that many jumps warming up because Cleo felt really good. She felt a little fresh so my trainer and I decided to take off my spurs for the first round. Poor decision…
Round 1 was pretty slow and sloppy, and all around ugly. Spurs back ON! Round two was a lot better, however, I picked up the wrong lead, which was totally annoying. But my fences were much better. I still didnโt place well in either round, but let’s call those warm ups for the CPHA class- and Iโm super excited!
The California Professional Horsemen’s Association (CPHA) offers medal classes for junior and amateur riders, and this is the first year I have been able to compete in their classes. Going into the ring for the CPHA I felt very confident like I was going to have an amazing round. Well, I didnโt do amazing but I did pretty well, and it was good enough to earn 1st place!! YES.
And of course for the prize I chose a knock off Stanley Cup because my parents wonโt buy me a real one, and I really wanted one. LOL.
And that was my day. Looking forward to many more events tomorrow!!
